First, loosen the small screw on the center knob. Any thoughts? What could be wrong? There doesn’t seem to be a clutch on the outside of this particular handwheel. It has certainly been loosened; there is a gap between the centre knob and the outer wheel, but the centre knob will not screw off completely. The clutch had quit working on my 1973 Kenmore sewing machine..that I had bought NEW way back then. Then when I tried to sew, the needle wouldn't engage any more. Make sure the spindle is spinning freely. Then heat it with a hair dryer. You could probably find it on the Sears/Kenmore website, and order it directly from them. If you loosen them both, the bobbin winder can slide closer or farther away from the handwheel. Bobbin Case — This part holds the bobbin during use.
